Boiler Room has launched its first virtual reality club night in collaboration with Google. VR Dancefloors: Techno in Berlin is a live-action, 360 video filmed in a nightclub, featuring a live set by FJAAK and a cast of 150 of “Berlin’s most dedicated ravers from a host of subcultures”.

The 15-minute-long film follows a narrative through which viewers “can choose their own adventure” through experiences Boiler Room describes as “engrossing interactive elements of immersive theatre, computer game narrative, music TV broadcast and installation art”.

Characters will lead viewers through a variety of interaction points, “on the dance floor or in the dark room”. Within the film are audio-visual art installations and hidden spaces, alongside the main club area.

It’s optimised for VR and Google’s Pixel phone, and free to download on the Google Daydream VR platform as part of the Inception app.
