Daniel Moriarty

A graduate of the University of South Wales, Daniel Moriarty is a Birmingham-based documentary and portrait photographer whose practice centres on community settings, using environmental portraiture to interrogate identity, belonging and relationships to place. His project on the Bournbrook DIY skatepark highlights the collective’s spirit while resisting stereotypical portrayals of skate culture. With a poetic approach, Daniel effortlessly and invitingly reframes subcultures as spaces of creativity, resilience and desired community.
