Jo Iijima
Harnessing a plethora of analogue tools, such as Risograph, laser cutting, and photography, alongside digital techniques, the approach and process of NYC-based graphic designer Jo Iijima is that of awareness, oddity, and storytelling. Jo’s practice encompassed branding, exhibition design and bespoke typography, and embraces the visual diversity of where he’s lived – that being Tokyo, Hong Kong, Vienna, Toronto, Los Angeles, and New York. His work incorporates Japanese and English, treating design as a translingual, emotional form. He is especially drawn to music and culture projects exploring identity and belonging.
