Sudheha Amerasinghe
London-based photographer Sudheha Amerasinghe has a warm, championing and enlivening approach to documentary photography, documenting the symbiosis of people and place. Focusing on climbing culture and outdoor communities, he captures the intimacy of human ambition and how it’s powerfully informed by the landscapes they’re within. His project Gathered Heights followed climbing traditions across the UK, enriching imagery with vibrant colours through darkroom printing. Influenced by films like Days of Heaven as well as Alpine photography, Sudheha foregrounds nature as a central character in poetic, compelling and, importantly, cinematic work.
