Byron Mohammad Hamzah

Kuala Lumpur-based artist and documentary photographer Byron Mohammad Hamzah has an ephemeral quality to his work, delving into social issues, identity and marginalised communities through a plethora of media. Using family archives, photo-embroidery and collage, his work reflects on personal heritage and LGBTQIA+ experiences. While dealing with delicate, loaded subjects, his compositions are bright and optimistic, revealing small, intimate scenes in the process.
