With the London Film Festival starting on Wednesday, hundreds of film critics will be sharpening their tongues and their opinions in readiness for the weeks ahead. As someone whose favourite film will forever be Cool Runnings (it’s got EVERYTHING!) I make no great claims to movie literacy, but this trailer for Czech animation Alois Nebel looks really special. Adapted from the graphic novels of Jaroslav Rudiš and Jaromír 99, it charts the story of a railway worker in the late 1980s whose dead-end job sees him descend into madness. It’s amazingly atmospheric and we quite enjoy not knowing what the devil’s going on, but the screenings will be subtitled…
