Unusual nudes and strange, glittering fashion photography from Arnaud Lajeunie

Date
27 November 2015

There is something elusive about Arnaud Lajeunie’s work – an unpredictable style and quality that’s hard to pin down. The French photographer, who doubles up as co-founder and photo editor of alternative erotic journal L’imparfaite, and his eye for the beautiful and bizarre, continue to improve and impress. From flashes of skin and close crops to vivid bursts of colour, he favours chance in his work. Often images are layered in subtle ways that can be easily missed, and upon closer inspection, one photograph of a naked girl in the woods reveals her to be climbing over a man wearing camouflage and red shoes. Whether his shoots are based on ideas or instinct, as Arnaud’s photography matures, it manages to become more simple and more beguiling at the same time.
