Illustrator Cécile Dormeau captures the humorous nuances of adult life
French illustrator Cécile Dormeau consistently depicts the tribulations of adult life in one neat, nuanced illustration. The Paris-based illustrator addresses a wide range of issues using her sharp wit to create work that is relatable and thought provoking.
We’ve shared her images countless times and in this latest portfolio update, Cécile uses a roster of female characters to express the universal insecurities and worries of so many people. The brilliance of her work however, is the way in which she reveals these vulnerabilities but celebrates them as well, bringing a sense of empowerment to the figures she depicts.
Her personal work sits seamlessly alongside her commissioned work, which includes clients like ASOS, The Sunday Times, and most recently Google, where she was commissioned by Anyways (part of the HudsonBec Group) to create a set of stickers for its messaging app, Allo.
