Plant pots with boobs, tan lines and tight speedos: it's the joyful ceramics of Group Partner

Brooklyn-based ceramics studio Group Partner has gained internet stardom for its comical ceramic pots with boobs, tan lines and speedos, and too right – we want them all. Founded in 2012 by Isaac Nichols and Steph Smith, the studio now comprises a small team hand-making and selling joyful ceramic works for happy customers worldwide.

Isaac’s designs take the age-old practice of sculpting human anatomy and make it funny. A couple of years ago he released the original boob pot, a ceramic plant pot with small protruding breasts covered by a bikini, and they were so popular now the range has diversified big time. The boobs come dressed in swimming costumes with leaf patterns, banana-patterns, polka dots, hearts, Hockney-inspired crescent brushstrokes, or even boob-patterns (how meta).

More recently the studio has released the tanline pots, in light and dark “skin” tones, where the swimming costume has been removed from the boob pots, revealing the results of its apparent sunbathing session. These also come in special edition versions with “feminist fighting words for these dark times”, emblazoned in speech bubbles, stating “My Body My Choice” and “Pussy Grabs Back". These are part of a campaign for Planned Parenthood, with all profits going to the organisation.

Group Partner has also made a male counterpart in the crotch pots, which feature a torso and a speedo-encased package that rests subtly on the table.
