The cruel irony of the fashion industry’s practice of seasonally preemptive collections (i.e. spring/summer lines drop in January/February) really comes to a head with these sun-kissed creations from Italian designer Caterina Gatta. Her blousey fabrics and hot-hued prints hold the promise of Roman holidays where the weather forecast is “eternally scorching.” Full-on fantasy, and I’m digging it. Damn you snow! Check her out at the Italian Cultural Institution where she’ll be presenting along with seven other emerging designers scouted by Vogue Italia.
