We check in with Laura Breiling, who specialises in drawing fabulous women

Date

They say that the more that you direct your commercial work towards the subjects that interest you, the more briefs you’ll get that you can’t wait to work on, which I imagine has something to do with the fact that Laura Breiling’s portfolio is full of brilliant, fierce women. She draws them in all guises – stern-looking girlgangs, curvaceous honeys hanging out poolside, breastfeeding mothers swathed in kimonos, and synchronised swimmers training in a local pool – and each receives a sculpted brow and an admirable dose of attitude. It’s not a bad niche to have, and evidently it’s working out for Mainz-based Laura – she’s been busy working on commissions from 360 Magazine, The Vinyl Factory and Bloomberg Businessweek.
