Mads Berg's fantastic illustrations are a modern take on classic poster art
Danish illustrator Mads Berg’s modern take on the classic poster has seen him clock up an international client list including Wired, Monocle, Legoland and Carlsberg. His portfolio is filled with gloriously soft colours that emphasise his bold brushstrokes and simply constructed figures.
Often featureless, the characters he depicts sit surrounded by beautiful landscapes allowing us to focus on the poster as a whole rather than individual details. It’s these travel destination posters I’m drawn to most, where Mads’ contemporary take on the painterly vintage travel ads of exotic, faraway places, have been rejuvenated enough to make them current.
