Animator Mimi Leung reflects on balls (not that kind for goodness’ sake)

Date
17 August 2015

“Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head!” was a favourite childhood refrain of mine, and this new animation by Central Saint Martins and Royal College of Art graduate Mimi Leung might be the first time in my professional career that I’ve had the opportunity to repeat it. So I shall do so gleefully. Her new animation is pithily entitled Balls, and it’s a joyful, colourful and drippy reflection on the wonder of sports balls, plus it’s all of one minute long and ends with a brilliant, unforeseen bump. If you just watch one thing today, make it this.
