Old literature meets contemporary design in Nina Fischer’s homage to the German dictionary, which sees the home of all words celebrated in a way that’s bright, beautiful and immediate. Its ten chapters feature different versions of the dictionary as it has progressed from the 17th to the 21st century, presenting a considered selection of typography and layouts to highlight the evolution of the object. With attention to each volume’s original format, the chapters vary in size and shape, together resembling a stack of books. She’s even picked up a DDC Good Design Award for the project, and we say fair dues!
