Photographer Sean Fennessy captures Tasmania in his ongoing series Deep South
Australian photographer Sean Fennessy first tickled the It’s Nice That team with his photographs of artist Troy Emery’s studio. This time it’s his minimal observations of Tasmania that have captured our attention.
Deep South, an ongoing series, showcases contrasting domestic and rural landscapes in stunningly composed photographs. The pastel-hued intricacies of Tasmanian home life are framed in clingfilm and sun-bathed bedsheets whilst Sean captures the earthy tones of the island’s sinuous countryside with striking long-distance shots.
Not ignoring the inhabitants of his home state, Sean’s images feature a heavily styled poodle, a young boy playing outside and a selection of men shot from behind, communicating a sense of privacy or anonymity.
