Rosanna Webster adds whimsy and flair to favourite magazine covers

Date
20 July 2015

For her latest personal project, London creative Rosanna Webster has reinterpreted a selection of her favourite magazine covers to beautiful effect. Working across photography, collage and moving image, Rosanna’s multilayered work is largely fashion-focused and moves in the realm of illustrated editorial. Most recently she has created work for the go-to fashion house for floral-inspired couture, Dior, and her portfolio also boasts commissions from Adidas, Dossier Journal and NOWNESS .

Her series of reworked covers marries fashion imagery and botanical prints, playing with overlapping and interesting crops, and reimagining issues of Acne Paper, i-D, and 032c as an intricate series of stills and GIFS. Indeed they are so well-finished they could easily be special editions of the real thing. The GIFS show the covers’ transformation, building from the original and back again, keeping in step with the old truism that the best ideas are often the most simple.
