Of all the projects taking place as part of this year’s Cultural Olympiad, top points for imagination capturing surely go to Shauna Richardson. The crochetdermist has produced three 25ft crochet lions (based on the ones from Richard the Lionheart’s crest) and will be taking them round the UK to whip up patriotic fervour ahead of the games (or alternatively give us the chance to gawp at some ruddy massive knitted animals). Either way this video from Crane.tv gives us an insight into how and why Shauna’s madcap plan came together.
