Jiggling eyeballs, monsters and trousers populate Sophy Hollington's new work

Date

Sophy Hollington has been busy making some sassy new printed matter. With fan art, band T-shirts, record sleeves and commissions from The New York Times and Japanese gallery Parades, Sophy’s detailed, lino-cut and Risograph printed work is gorgeous, varied and often rather strange.

Set in a landscape of alien stalagmites, graveyard hangouts, gauchos, expressive buns and plighted African vultures, Sophy balances a commitment to process and hand work with a depth and variety of characters, settings and googly eyes. Her work is generous, creepy and hilarious. Also, see that Blueprint Blue record? The one and only James Cartwright lends his harmonising, dulcet tones to that very album. Have a listen.
