David Parker – one half of the creative story-telling duo Sunday Paper with Cole Schreiber – has directed this short and absorbing night-time tale of LA’s light waste. The lava-like flow of energy from the city’s bulbs is captured in a strangely beautiful ooze and does well to highlight (no pun intended) the otherwise invisible squandering of our natural resources. The director also intends to project the film back into the city, playing it from the storefronts of vacant stores and alley walls “as a moving piece of public art.”
