It is no news that the world around us is changing rapidly, in many cases with a negative effect. “But if we look around the world doesn’t have to be as grey as we think it is,” says photographer Will Sanders. “We still live in a world full of colour. With colourful landscapes, buildings and most importantly colourful people.”
This viewpoint, a photographic eye for surprising pops of colour in our surroundings, was the incentive for Will’s new book Full Colour. A collection of images taken over a number of years in search of colourful environments.
Made possible by a Kickstarter, which to no surprise reached its funding goal in under three weeks, the book is available in a collection of brilliantly bold colours, a hint at the photographic rainbow that lies inside. Many of the photographs are colourful in the obvious sense, masses of coloured balloons, bright pink radiators or vibrant piping in construction work. However the book also includes colourful moments, the other definition of the word to describe lively, vivid elements, like a dog waiting eagerly at a car window.
After launching in Amsterdam’s PhotoQ bookshop in January, Will launches Full Colour at KK Outlet on 16 March 2017.
