The East London Comics & Arts Festival commemorates its anniversary with a printed pack, brimming with work, zines, posters, badges and more.

As with many events, the East London Comics & Arts Festival (ELCAF) – London’s biggest annual festival dedicated to showcasing the best in comics, illustration, sequential art and storytelling – has been cancelled due to the pandemic. But in response to the temporary postponement, ELCAF has announced the pre-order of a celebratory printed pack, ELCAF Haul. The bundle’s name is a nod to previous years where attendees would upload their purchases to social media with the hashtag #elcafhaul.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the festival, so despite the changes in the calendar, the team still wanted to celebrate. As such, the pack brings together the work of 29 artists, illustrators and collectives, chosen and curated from an open call launched earlier this year. Along with a series of events set to take place in July, the contents of the Haul include an array of Riso and Litho-printed artworks including five posters, five zines, ten postcards, two workshop sheets, two pin badges and a set of stickers. Artists involved in the pack include Alxndra Cook, Anu Ambasna, Holly St Clair, Black Lodge Press, Ciara Quilty-Harper, Hel Covell, Seo Hye Lee, Sonali Khanna, Stacy Gougoulis among others.

ELCAF was founded in 2012 by independent publisher Nobrow. The mission of the festival is to celebrate and shed light on a range of small press publications, along with the individual artists and collectives involved in bringing comics and illustration into the mainstream. A typical event will see over 4,000 visitors come to meander through the works.

Those who purchase the ELCAF Haul can also buy a copy of There’s Only One Place This Road Ever Ends Up by illustrator and cartoonist David Biskup, published under the ELCAF x WeTransfer 2019 award.

Costing £10 as a pre-order sale, the limited edition run of the ELCAF Haul will be available until 1 June, shipping will take place at the end of June.
