Winston Hacking creates a collaged portal for Flying Lotus' first video in two years

Canadian collage artist and filmmaker Winston Hacking has directed, puppeteered and animated Flying Lotus’ latest video Post Requisite, the musician’s first music video in two years.

Produced by Flying Lotus and director Eddie Alcazar, the stop-motion short is a portal into a collage-layered world. With a warped apocalyptic narrative, Winston’s collages are mildly rude and psychedelic, curated together with found footage to reveal brains, insects, bums, and bleeding gums.

The hypnotic short features additional collages by Andrew Zuckerman as well as stop-motion animation by Jeremy Murphy. Stylistically, Post Requisite continues Winston’s collage style of animation, for which he previously created shorts for Washedout, Andy Shauf and Soupcans.

A regular Vimeo Staff Pick awardee, Winston is also represented by Brainfeeder Films, a visual division of Flying Lotus’ record label.
