Next week Sotheby’s will take to eBay to auction prints and multiples by the likes of Jean-Michel Basquiat, Jeff Koons, Keith Haring, David Hockney, Joan Miró, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí. The auction house launched its eBay platform in April 2015 with its first live-streamed auction, allowing those bidding online the same access as those bidding in person in New York.
This latest sale, titled Prints & Multiples, will feature pieces by 19th, 20th and 21st Century artists, also including Sybil Andrews, Chuck Close, Edward Hopper, Marcel Duchamp, Lucian Freud, Roy Lichtenstein, Francis Bacon, Henri Matisse and Andy Warhol. It will take place over two days on 20-21 April, with the lots now available to browse online.
Estimated prices start from around $2,000 for prints by Max Beckmann or Frank Stella, to $120,000 for Picasso or Jasper Johns prints.
