The new Wes Anderson trailer just dropped, and it’s space cadet-themed

Wes Anderson has just revealed the trailer for his new film Asteroid City, his first feature since The French Dispatch.

Straight out of Area 51, the trailer for Asteroid City lands us directly in 1950s America where we’re introduced to a cast of characters in a fictional town of the same name. The story will follow the world-changing events that disrupt a junior stargazer/space cadet convention, which parents and students from across the country have travelled to participate in, “for fellowship and scholarly competition”, a synopsis describes.

While we only catch glimpses in the trailer, the cast list is expectedly chocka. Some long-time collaborators like Jason Schwartzman, Edward Norton, Willem Dafoe and Adrien Brody will appear alongside the likes of Steve Carell. Others cast members include Scarlett Johansson, Tom Hanks, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Margot Robbie, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan and Jeff Goldblum.

Asteroid City is one of two Anderson films currently in the works, alongside his much-anticipated second Roald Dahl adaptation, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar.
