Yellow and green printed strips of paper are scattered across a patch of grass. One strip features a stylized face and reads “my brain is a compost heap my books are decaying organic matter”. Other strips contain the phrase “this earth is made of books for all to consume” alongside illustrations of open books titled “BUG FACTS”.

Lu Fraser

Lu Fraser is an illustrator and comic artist based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Their practice offers a space where environmental and social justice, transness and ecological systems can meet. Working primarily with Risographic zines and comics, Fraser translates academic or complex themes into accessible, textural visual narratives – feeling both crude and piercingly prodigious. Influenced by artists like Leomi Sadler and writers such as Astrida Neimanis, they draw inspiration from water, slime and metamorphosis to create print works that provoke conversation and engagement – all whilst wearing heart and humour on their sleeves.
