Njung’e Wanjiru

Nairobi-based animator Njung’e Wanjiru works with hand-drawn textures and frame-by-frame animation to examine and dissect contemporary African identity, particularly the position masculinity takes within it. In his mesmerising animated short Mask_ulinity, he uses recorded interviews to explore his own personal experiences of masculinity and, in doing so, the wider role African men play within their communities.
