If you weren’t already aware, this coming October will see the return of Adobe MAX, one of the biggest events in the creative calendar. Not only can you anticipate a variety of inspirational talks, ranging from the humorous to the powerful, you can also get involved with some hands-on sessions. In these, you can learn how to create stellar social content, or even find out how to use Adobe’s tools to get your photographs looking their best. Keep on reading below for It’s Nice That’s full breakdown.
If you’re craving some creative inspiration from some of the biggest names in the industry, Adobe has an exceptional list lined up. In the Inspiration Keynote you‘ll hear stories from creators including: Academy Award-winning writer and director, Siân Heder; Grammy-nominated artist, DJ and producer, Steve Aoki; world renowned artist Jeff Koons; plus, photographer, conservationist and biologist Cristina Mittermeier.
You can also take take a peek into what’s brewing in Adobe Research with MAX Sneaks, co-hosted by Kevin Hart, actor, comedian, and entrepreneur, and Bria Alexander, senior design program manager at Adobe, Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) consultant, and international speaker.
The London-based illustrator and artist Mr Bingo, widely known for his humorous talks, will be discussing his eclectic projects. He’ll also be getting somewhat personal, sharing the themes and stories that have inspired his work; expect existential anxieties, solicited NSFW pictures and learning how to rap. On the design side of things, Adobe has Aaron Draplin of Draplin Design Co. taking to the stage. But, rather than discussing himself, the talk will instead be a love letter to those behind the scenes – a profession of his appreciation for those that have helped him along his illustrious career thus far. Heartwarming stuff!
If you want to get really stuck in, then Adobe MAX has numerous sessions on offer, all of which will give you a masterclass in how to use their wide range of tools and programs. The high quality content creation possible with Adobe Express will become apparent in the sessions focusing on social media and marketing. In the sessions, you’ll learn how small business owners and freelancers have found success on social media, and work out how you can harness and grow your own social channels. One, led by viral marketer and celebrity social content producer Andrea Casanova delves into how to build a cross-channel digital footprint, while another, led by Adobe Express expert Katrina Torrijos, will talk you through how to make beautiful, on-brand content quickly and easily.
The talks on offer will also provide vital information on how to harness your creative practice for the betterment of society. Antionette D. Carroll president and CEO of Creative Reaction Lab, will hold a talk that highlights every individual’s personal power to manifest change in race relations and promote liberation, equity, justice and peace within their own organisations and communities. For the talk, Carroll will be joined by young emerging artists from the Artwork for Equity Programme at Creative Reaction Lab.
Adobe MAX will also be joined by creative director, filmmaker and screenwriter Tomás Karmelo Amaya, who will be leading a talk entitled Creating Visual Medicine Through an Indigenous Lens. Throughout, the filmmaker and creative director will be sharing Indigenous teachings and knowledge systems, and shining a light on creating art rooted in kinship, compassion, allyship and the intersection of culture. The talk will also explore co-creating spaces of healing through art and building healthy collaborations through a trauma and healing-informed lens.
For all you photographers, both budding and established, there’s also events to take your camera along to. Going through the nitty gritty of Photoshop Lightroom, Photoshop Lightroom mobile and Photoshop Lightroom classic, you’ll find out how to make the best out of your images. You could choose to attend a mouthwatering session from Bea Lubas in a step-by-step masterclass on creating delicious-looking food photography by elevating it through light, composition and then a sprinkle of Adobe Lightroom. Or, you could head to the outdoors with photographer and author Nicole Young who will be sharing tips on how to take beautiful landscape photography, before using Lightroom to subtly make them look their best.
With such an exceptional array of ways to inspire, inform and educate, Adobe MAX is sure to be an event you won’t want to miss.
