We can relate to Aisha Franz' illustrations

—
Date
18 November 2016

Aisha Franz’ humorous, colourful illustrations, comics and drawings have won her a sturdy list of clients — New York Times, MIT Technology Review, Bloomberg, Heinz — among many others. It’s unsurprising: the Berlin-based illustrators work, for all its surrealism, hits upon the realities of life in a confusing, paradoxical world which we can all relate to.

Aisha’s style is so accessible in fact that her illustrations have replaced language as a smart phone “fashion girls” sticker pack (complete with vacuous Mean Girls phases like “totes amaze!!!”, “like totally”, “like ew”, “hey girl”) for Line USA.

Elsewhere, the straightforward lines and distinctive shapes which define her stickers are replaced with sketchy drawings which, despite their sense of unrestrained freedom, retain all of Aisha’s attentive eye for expressions and nuanced understanding of colour.
