Anagrama looks to symbolism in cinema techniques for Distrito Films identity

When Anagrama Studio was asked to rebrand Mexico’s leading independent film production company, it looked to the language of the trade for inspiration. “The rebrand is inspired by visual elements and multiburst test patterns that occur during the calibration video,” say the designers. “The colour palette was chosen by considering the colours generated during the adjustment of sharpness and colour temperature, highlighting the blinking red light that the camera turns on when recording.”

Distrito films has been furnished with a new logo, logotype, and printed promotional materials that use a simple graphic language that unites its identity. The typefaces chosen by the designers reflects those commonly used in script writing and translate effortlessly across the applications. The simplicity of graphic element means that it can be used boldly when needed – becoming a prominent abstract pattern when used on promotional materials such as posters – or in a more subtle, textural way – as seen on the tote bag for the press kit.
