Illustrator Dan Howden’s wonderful linocuts capture his favourite spots

Date
17 November 2015

Printmaker and illustrator Dan Howden is a recent grad from Liverpool John Moores University but his portfolio full of linocuts already looks promising. Taking inspiration from the places he knows and has visited including London and Cape Cod, Dan depicts the everyday through soft, textured prints. The Yorkshire illustrator captures detailed and vivid scenes and creates a lovely depth by layering muted colours and lines. Dan seems drawn to the less obvious structures and buildings and it gives his work a familiarity regardless of where his images are based.
