Publication: New magazine Girls Like Us showcases femaleness at its absolute coolest

Just in case you needed any further proof that women are producing some incredibly high quality girl-focused projects just now, here’s another. Girls Like Us is a magazine produced in Amsterdam and Belgium, and it channels exactly the combination of engaging content, beautiful design and nonchalance that we’re into.

It’s themed too, with issue five focused on “play”; the kind which encourages transformation, experimentation and self-confidence. “Making up worlds, filming them. Surfing warm and cold waves. Playing with identities. Playing en masse, learning from each other. Playing to be free.” Accordingly, it features a digital conversation with performance artist Boychild, writer Chris Kraus “on beer brewing and BDSM,” music producer and artist Fatima Al Qadiri on her ace hairdo, and musicians The Knife, alongside no small number of others. The magazine is representative of a brilliantly diverse range of creative types, from musicians and artists to skaters and filmmakers, all of which are shown to their absolute best by the design.

Don’t be mistaken – a new age for girl power is on its way, and Girls Like Us will be right at the helm.
