Strobes, abstractions and utopias in ace new Warp Records video

Most things Warp Records touches turn to something odd and slightly disquieting, in a rather wonderful way. This new video for its signing Mark Pritchard’s Sad Alron is no exception, crafted by Australian animator and artist Jonathan Zawada. The video shows a strange, otherworldly landscape of geometric 3D shapes, rocky deserts and glittering crystals. Like the track it accompanies, it’s hypnotic and engrossing, with clouds and nuclear skies that feel at once suffocating and light. Veering between the stillness of an empty cavern to a strobing cluster of bright, luminescent forms; it’s a gloriously abstract creation.
