Nick Liefhebber presents greenhouse-inspired illustrations

Date
11 June 2015

Jack of all trades Nick Liefhebber is the Dutchman at the helm of Liefhebber Ontwerp, a Utrecht-based design studio which specialises in identity, website and typography design, films, flyers, infographics, exhibitions…you name it. And in the mix is a selection of riso-printed illustration so good that we keep on coming back to it.

This time around it’s foliage that’s taken Nick’s fancy, creating two illustration series inspired by Amsterdam’s Hortus Botanicus. They’re richly patterned and textural, layering coloured inks and intricate patterns to create a psychedelic blend of stripes and spots with the occasional border and amulet bearing a hint of that Roman influence that was so present in his last project, too.
