We’ve always had a real soft spot for ultra modern takes on classical art, and this stunning teaser trailer from Quayola has whetted that particular appetite anew. Using the Flemish collection at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Lille – with a focus on the Rubens grand altarpieces – Quayola’s custom-built software unpicks the paintings’ elements in terms of colour, composition and proportion. By scratching the surface he sets up an intriguing dialogue between artists separated by centuries and helps us re-evalute our relationships with world famous paintings.
