Tickets are now available for Nicer Tuesdays London, on 1 September at EartH Hackney, featuring another selection of brilliant creatives curated just for you!
This time around, chief editor Katy Hundertmark and art director Hamid Sallali from Foam Magazine will be taking us through the origins of the magazine, its distinct visual direction and how it uses archival photography as a living, creative medium. As well as that, Joanna Blémont will be taking to the stage – the illustrator behind this much-talked-about project for Loewe, which took her watercolour paintings and turned them into a 2,000-frame film.
We’ll also be welcoming Studio Kiln, an award-winning brand and motion design studio, behind high profile projects for Bafta 2026, Vinted and ITV, which creates lively identities, narratives and digital experiences that resonate with the world we live in. Last but not least, George Wu and Cecilia Serafini from independent brand and design company Mother Design will be sharing the stage to discuss their unique creative approach and brilliant side projects!
We will be partnering with Affinity & Cavalry by Canva for September’s event. Affinity combines professional vector design, photo editing, and page layout in one powerful app, while Cavalry covers 2D animation and motion design. They’ll be hosting an activation packed with standout work from Affinity and Cavalry creators in the Community Gallery, which will be brought to life across a cluster of digital screens. Stop by for inspiration, chat to the team, and learn more about what these apps are capable of!
Make sure to get down to the event at 6pm when the doors open to have the chance to grab a drink and snack from our sponsors El Rayo Tequila and Lovecorn. The event will take place on Tuesday 1 September at EartH in Hackney. Doors open at 6pm and the talks will begin around 7:15pm. The full address is EartH, 11-17 Stoke Newington Rd, London N16 8BH.
Please be aware that photography and filming may be taken at this event for marketing and promotional purposes. If you do not want to be photographed or filmed, please speak to our team on the day. If you have access requirements please make yourself known to a member of the EartH team on the night or email hello@nicertuesdays.com so we can arrange assistance.
Chief editor Katy Hundertmark and art director Hamid Sallali from Foam Magazine will be travelling from Amsterdam and Spain respectively to be at September’s Nicer Tuesdays – talk about dedication! – to deliver a talk on the origins of the internationally acclaimed magazine, its distinct visual direction and how it uses archival photography as a living creative medium.
The V&A Illustration Awards-nominated illustrator Joanna Blémont will be sharing more detail about her meticulous and beautiful collaboration with Loewe, which turned her signature watercolour paintings into 2,000 frame film. As well as that, Joanna will be sharing details on a zine she made in 2024 which highlights why playfulness and fun are essential to creativity.
Charlie Hocking and Nathan Smith of Studio Kiln will be joining the Nicer Tuesdays stage to talk about just a few of their high-profile projects, for the likes of ITV, Vinted, Netflix and Bafta 2026. The duo will take us behind the golden mask to show how that project was developed, looking at motion design as the body language of a brand and how the studio approaches projects with lifefulness and emotional durability.
Lastly, we’ll be welcoming co-founder of The Poundshop and the curatorial Instagram page I Can’t Afford This But Maybe She Can, George Wu and Cecilia Serafini from the independent brand and design company Mother Design. The two design directors will be discussing their unique creative approach to projects large and small, from the brand and design company’s work for clients such as Selfridges, the NBA and the BBC, to fun side projects.
