Romanian art director Bogdan Ceausescu creates retro-inspired posters for music and film

Date
17 February 2016

Bucharest-based art director Bogdan Ceausescu’s latest project is a landscape poster design for young group of musicians The Funk Overdrive Series. Drawing inspiration from the group’s funk inspired sounds, Bogdan’s work features the retro oversized sans serif type in bold black fill that has become typical of his recent work.

Other interesting projects from the designer include a vintage-style poster and ticket for a showing of Stanley Kubrick’s 1971 film A Clockwork Orange. Bogdan’s rework of the original promotional artwork references prominent illustrator Philip Castle’s famous use of orange, but sees him using a deeper shade more inkeeping with his personal style. The designer has employed the same orange hue as the cohesive factor in his other poster design work for the over-arching series of films hosted by the cinema.
