Australian comedian Tim Minchin has built up an army of fans over recent years with his trademark combination of biting lyrics and sumptuous showmanship, but it seems timely to post this song this week. It was revealed yesterday that Minchin turned down an offer to front a Pepsi campaign, saying: "Do I want to sell Pepsi? No, I want to sell my ideas,’ which could sound excruciatingly pompous coming from almost anyone else. This song, recorded with the Heritage Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall, is about the selling out of stand-up comedy and it’s as bitter as it is beautifully dramatic. The final twist?
