Textural and bold designs for art and music festival Baleapop 7 by French agency Twice Studio

Date

French agency Twice Studio is based in Paris, run by the formidable (in its English and French senses) duo Fanny Le Bras and Clémentine Berry. Creating work mostly for music, fashion and cultural clients, the Twice portfilio is full of considered, clever work. The project that most impressed us was the branding for music and contemporary art festival Baleapop 7, which uses a wonderful textural approach to graphics. Framing textile-like pops of colour in thick, black lines, the pop-art feel works alongside playful sans serif type and a series of cartoonish icons to produce a look and feel that’s superbly adaptable across numerous applications. Each image uses two colours and what appears to be a closely cropped section of a graphic image, making for work that feels at once modern and timeless.
