Antwerp-based designer Ward Heirwegh’s experimental portfolio of projects for the arts
Antwerp-based designer Ward Heirwegh’s projects are often commissions from various institutions and artists that take the form of identities, editorial design and publications. There is a multitude of new projects in Ward’s portfolio: from a festival identity Bâtard Festival, which he created in collaboration with Ines Cox to a university based publication The YellowPress Periodical.
We featured him back in 2015 for his starkly minimal identity for a show at Het Paviljoen and Ward’s style is still sparse and stripped-back. Yet his collaborations with other designers and the breadth of his projects have allowed him to experiment more with typography, composition and colour creating a wonderful mix of work.
As well a practicing designer, Ward also teaches graphic deign at the St Lucas School of Arts in Antwerp and also “conducts research into alternative means of distributing information” through a research platform that maps cross-over design practices.
