“Random” has become boorish rugger types’ go-to word – “Oh my goodness, Bicksy was there with Sal-Sal, it was so random” but the good people of Channel 4 are on a mission to reclaim it thanks to their Random Acts video series. It’s been running for a few months and eventually it will feature 260 commissioned shorts, but there’s aleady a wealth of interesting stuff including this meditative freer-unning effort from Rishi Kaneria, plus a few efforts fetauring friends of the site Bompas and Parr, a focus on 2011 It’s Nice That graduate Krystina Naylor, this oddly-moving (and a little bit rude) animation set in a doctor’s office, plus any excuse to show this from Rick Mereki.
