GUNMAD lands in London for inaugural Unit Editions show

Date
5 February 2015

Reykjavík/London-based design duo GUNMAD (Guðmundur Úlfarsson and Mads Freund Brunse) has been pretty damn productive the past couple of years working on commercial projects, generating typefaces and working towards a new exhibition in collaboration with Unit Editions.

It’s just updated Or Type, its progressive type foundry, where you can lay your hands on five beautifully considered fonts for pretty reasonable sums. The New York Times, The Wire and The 2015 Sundance Film Festival have already made use of its typographic talents, which ought to give an indication of their quality.

The images below demonstrate what GUNMAD’s letterforms look like in use – put to work for an exhibition catalogue on the wonders of motion dazzle – but if you’d like to see the specimens up close they’ll be landing in London to appear at Unit Editions’ inaugural at the Unit Gallery. Nice work boys!

Or Type: Now & Then Or Again runs at Unit Gallery from 13 February to 13 March.
