Counting the levels on which we love illustrator Michelle Thompson's work

The best thing about sitting round discussing illustrator Michelle Thompson’s work was that everyone found something different in it they loved – the sparing but effective use of colour, the typographic touches and the relevant but not heavy-handed responses to briefs were among the qualities we flagged up.

Of course the RCA graduate doesn’t need us to tell her how wonderful she is, having worked with the BBC, Penguin Books, The Guardian, Creative Review, and Angus Hyland of Pentagram, plus she illustrates a weekly column for The Globe & Mail in Toronto.

But why not add our voice to the multitude as her combination of traditional collage making and digital techniques produces work that is interesting, exciting and great to look at. She recently beat off stiff competition to scoop the Double Identity customised shoe design contest proving that she can turn her talents to pretty much anything.
