Doing the “bare maximum” with limited resources: Tina Tona on fostering creativity through collage

Tina Tona is a photo-collage artist whose found ephemera and cut up magazines explore diasporic Black expression, pop culture and her dual heritage. At Nicer Tuesdays in New York City last September, Tina gave an introduction on her expressive, colourful works (which she calls “organised noise”) and highlighted significant projects such as doing the “bare maximum” at independent magazines as a young teenager to making zines made to encourage “the child inside”.
