What came first the chicken or the egg? It’s a question that has puzzled mankind since Aristotle’s day (didn’t he have anything better to ponder one wonders) and it’s the theme for a pop-up restaurant/art exhibition opening in Hackney this week. The Art of Dining is the brainchild of four friends, including a Moro-trained chef, a set designer and two gallery owners and promises to bring a little taste of the country to east London, in delightfully unexpected ways. There are still a few places left for open-minded foodies, and there will be a chance to see Iain Maitland’s haunting, visceral photographs of animals from Wednesday onwards.
