School’s out and so you know what that means – it’s The Weekender

Date

To stop you losing any more precious minutes when we lose an hour on Sunday, here at It’s Nice That we’ve kindly gathered all the important stuff you should be wrapping your eyes around before they’re left sadly squinting in darkness. You know because we’re nice like that. Let us be your light. Here’s The Weekender.

HOAX: Rwina Records

– This week on Studio Audience we discussed Lawrence Zeegen’s new book, FKA Twigs’ Google Glass video, butt-plug Christmas Trees and Banksy.

– Cheeky (and wonderfully-designed) French magazine Nichons-Nous dans L’Internet explores the relationship between the internet and boobs.

– Impeccable record sleeve designs by Amsterdam studio HOAX.

– Peruse these quietly powerful portraits by up-and-coming photographer Maya Fuhr.

– We look at who can really claim authorship of artworks created using technology designed by someone else in our Opinion piece

Ed Cheverton’s Weapon of Choice

Throughout October we’ve been running a whole load of features all based around the theme of Back to School. Here are some of this week’s highlights:

– If you’re at art school and hate it, or were once at art school and don’t reckon it was really all that, don’t worry – you’re not alone. In this fantastically open piece, Francesca Jane Allen explains why art school wasn’t for her.

– Magculture founder Jeremy Leslie tells us about being a fresher at LCC in 1981, and shows us a pic of his lovely undergrad hairdo.

– We ask six brilliant illustrators to tell us about their weapons of choice.

– Ace Finnish illustrator and comic artist Rami Niemi shares a comic from when he was nine.

– We chat to Fabio Piras, director of Central Saint Martins’ Fashion MA.

– And collective King Zog bravely show us their best and worst uni projects.

Today it’s been reported that Dutch and German biker gangs have traveled to Kobani in Syria to fight ISIS. Can this possibly be true or is it just a rumour that’s got out of hand? Hopefully the former!

Rob Alderson

The latest in Zach Galifianakis’s anti-interview series sees him sit down with Brad Pitt. It’s everything we’ve come to expect from Between Two Ferns; it’s weird, at times uncomfortable and completely hilarious. There’s also an unexpected cameo to keep an eye out for…
