Bloomberg Businessweek has launched a new cover that features the bald heads of the CEOs of banks JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Goldman Sachs. The cover relates to a larger feature in the magazine about succession plans at both companies.

Shot by photographer Simon Dawson, the craniums of Lloyd Blankfein and Jamie Dimon have been cropped just below the eyebrows. The cover and its accompanying gif (plus a well-deployed “heir” pun) reflect the playful nature of the article, by finance and technology expert Hugh Son.

“In another universe, they might have starred in an odd-couple comedy about a pair of New Yorkers who rise to fame and fortune,” writes Son. “Jamie Dimon, the voluble sometimes ill-tempered alpha male from Queens; Lloyd Blankfein, shorter and bald, the wisecracking sidekick from Brooklyn.”

Bloomberg Businessweek redesigned last June, led by the then creative director Rob Vargas, as part of a wider relaunch that included a new app, website and daily newsletter. Rob recently left the title to head up the design department at GQ.
