Now in its third year, the Glasgow Print Fair 2021 returns with yet another impressive roster of 25 artists and printmakers, each of which have created a print based on the theme of travel. Taking place over 19 – 26 June, those involved include the likes of Supermundane, Tess Smith-Roberts, Thomas Hedger, DR.ME and Risotto Studio, with print sales going live tomorrow and available to purchase via the website.

Compared to previous editions, this time around the fair will be shared online due to the restrictions of the pandemic. The organisers – Paved with Gold co-founder Kaye Symington and Maraid Design partner Jane McDevitt – are sharing a myriad of colourful works from artists across the globe. “The theme of travel is something I think everyone can connect with as we slowly emerge from lockdown,” says Kaye in the announcement. “Our eyes are on the horizon with the world opening up and feeling that we will soon be able to get out there and explore.”

As such, the fair is running digitally and will continue to support print in Scotland. Since launching in 2019 at The Lighthouse, Glasgow, the fair has featured over 50 artists during the one-day festival, where 2,000 visitors came through its doors and raised money for the local charity Refuweegee – a charity that provides support to forcibly displaced people arrived in Glasgow. This year, print sales online will range from £15-£100 and can be purchased from each artist via the Glasgow Print Fair website, with all proceeds going directly to the artists with an option to donate to Refuweegee.

“With the pandemic, many fairs have not been able to run,” says co-organiser Jane McDevitt in the release. “It was really important for us to do all that we could to continue to shout about print. We’re so excited to share the work from so many talented creatives.”

The full line up of participants at the Glasgow Print Fair include DR.ME, Lou Rowland, Alice Dansey Wright, Tess Smith, Roberts, Conor Nolan, Eleni Kalorkoti, Kieron Redmond, Linn Fritz, Thomas Hedger, Adam Higton, Sanna Hellikki Turunen, Supermundane, KMGYeah, Andreas Samulesson x Raclet, Katie Smith, Wild Press, Dominika Lipniewska, Ruan Van Vliet, Concrete Nature Studio, David Lemm, ploterre, Michael Driver, Lauren Morsley, Hollie Fuller and Risotto Studio.
