Graphic Design: Grant Li's typeface based on the dots and dashes of morse code

Grant Li has gone above and beyond the basic design requirements for his recent branding of designer, writer and linguist Jonah Goodman – creating a bespoke typeface for the polymath to use across a range of printed collateral. Taking Jonah’s multilingual abilities as inspiration (he speaks five languages) Grant has furnished him with a graphic language all of his own, based on the universal dots and dashes of traditional Morse code. The ambiguous typeface lends itself to abstraction and though it initially appears to be a collection of disparate forms, letters begin to emerge the longer you stare. Rumour has it that pesky Q has gone missing though…
