3 minutes 35 seconds of unadulterated satisfaction: The Making of the Leica M9-P

If you’re one of those people that keeps the plastic coating over the screen of a new phone for as long as possible until the optimum time when you can slowly peel it off, then you will enjoy this few minutes of spine-tingling satisfaction courtesy of Leica.

In celebration of the late Jean-Louis Dumas, the former president of Hermès, Leica produced a limited edition AG camera which is potentially one of the most lovingly created, magnificent man-made objects on the planet. Watch as they gently toast then carefully drag a bone-folder around the leather of the protective case, then witness as they (who is “they”, elves?) stamp the trusty Leica logo on to one of the most carefully made boxes you’ll ever see. Don’t even get me started on the sounds this video makes – you’ll have to listen yourself, then possibly cry because you’ll never afford this holy piece of gadgetry.
