Our graphic design stories saw a lot of interesting and relatable conversation this year, with the top slot going to Elizabeth Goodspeed’s investigation into why graphic designers can’t stop joking about hating their jobs. You’re a continually curious bunch and you want to get into the nitty gritty, so it’s no surprise you kept clicking on articles that uncovered new trends and explored how traditional techniques can give rise to innovative creations.
Cultural moments had their time in the limelight this year, and we’re fully in our Gothic era; our look into why Gothic endures in visual culture came right on time as Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein hit the big screen and with Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights right around the corner. And throughout the year – as always – you lot have been hungry: from cookbooks, to bakery identities, you want to know how graphic design can elevate taste (pun intended).
